Studies

Dr. Ghassan graduated from the University of King Abdulaziz in 1998 with a Bachelors of Medicine and Surgery. He joined the Internal Medicine Department in 1999 and was a Medical Demonstrator in Umm AlQura University in 2001. He was also a fellow in Infectious Diseases and Medicine at The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Dr. Ghassan attained The American Board of Infectious Diseases and Internal Medicine.

Work Experience

Dr. Ghassan is a Consultant for Infectious Diseases and HIV, a Director of Infection control and Hospital Epidemiology. He also directs Infectious Diseases Training programs for the Saudi Council and Chairs a Club of the same unit. His career began in 2007 and he continuous to practice in the field, He is a member of many Boards including the Scientific Advisory for HIV and Antibiotics Utilization Sub-Committee.

Achievements

Publications are an important part of his career where he has performed several peer reviews including Patient Characteristics Infected with Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus Infection in a Tertiary Hospital and Novel influenza A (H1N1) Virus-Induced Hemophagocytosis: First Case Reported in Saudi Arabia.
